Unknown fields are rejected with a helpful 400. Media fields take https URLs. There is no provider parameter — every run is routed to the cheapest capable provider automatically.

Billing
Runs bill your account credits at provider cost with 0% markup. The submit response includes the credit estimate; failed generations are refunded automatically. Add ?dryRun=1 to get the estimate without running anything.
Errors
Errors are always { "error": { "code", "message" } } with stable codes: unauthorized, model_not_available, invalid_parameter, insufficient_credits, rate_limited. A failed run is not an HTTP error — poll responses report status: "FAILED" with the reason.

Nano Banana Pro runs on Gemini 3 Pro, the top of Google's image stack. It's the tier to reach for when the output has to hold up under scrutiny: cleaner complex edits, stronger realism, and closer prompt adherence than the Flash-based tiers. Where Nano Banana 2 is built for speed and volume, Pro is built for the image that actually ships.
Markedly better text rendering
Legible typography inside generated images is one of Nano Banana Pro's signature strengths — posters, packaging, signage, and UI mockups where earlier models produced scrambled lettering. If the design contains words the viewer needs to read, this is the Nano Banana tier to use.
4K output, 2K at no extra cost
Pro outputs at 1K, 2K, or 4K — and 1K and 2K cost the same $0.09 per image, so there's rarely a reason not to generate at 2K. Full 4K is $0.12 per image. Every run is routed to the cheapest of six providers that serve the model. You also get format control (jpeg or png) and ten aspect ratios from 21:9 ultrawide to 9:16 vertical, plus an auto mode.
Draft cheap, finish on Pro
